About the Event

Ever wanted to learn how to make fire the way our ancestors have for the last couple of hundred thousand years?

Come and spend the day with us as we delve into this ancient skill.

Fire is human’s greatest ally and has been since time began.

We all know the feeling of sitting by the fire, it is a primordial relationship that is innate within us all

Learning how to make fire from what the earth provides Is a gateway to learning how to be a human again!

The workshop includes:

-  Learning the friction fire techniques Hand Drill and Bow Drill.

-  Learning which materials to use and how to harvest them ethically.

-  Learning How to craft fire by friction kits.

-  Hands on practising of both methods.

-  mentoring and tips from the facilitators.

-  Educational hand-outs on primitive fire making

-  Bush tea using wild foraged greens

What you will need:

-  A cup or mug for the bush tea.

-  A small to medium knife if you have one.

-  BYO lunch.

You will leave with the knowledge on what materials you need, how to prepare them & how to make your own fire by friction kit! And hopefully a deeper relationship with our ancient fire friend
