About the Event

Are you a man craving deeper connection to the land and yourself? Keen to slow down to bush time and leave the to-do list at home?

Something special happens when we gather as men, this is why all of our ancestors have been doing so since the beginning of time.

This men’s gathering will be unique in the sense that it is based around connection to the land; reconnecting with our ancestral roots as men.

This is a 3 day gathering held on private property up in the Wollombi Region. 1.5 hours west from Central Coast & Newcastle.

The property is on a ridge top, surrounded by 360 views of bush & rolling valleys below, full of sandstone caves to explore + wildlife.

The weekend will consist of

- Bushwalks off-trail

- Tracking

- Cultural connection, Smoking Ceremony

- Learning how to make a spear and spear thrower

- Shelter building

- Fire by friction

- Connection to ecology

- Wild food and medicine walk

- Rewilding in a modern setting

- Sharing circles by the fire

- Healthy communal dinners cooked on the fire incorporating wild plants and wild meat.

Spaces are limited, this is a unique opportunity for us to gather as men and experience what it is like to be amongst other men in a wild setting living close to the land, practicing all the skills that our land-based ancestors practiced.

Facilitators:

Will & Clay: Co creators of nature based organisation Wild Beings, these two have walked their talk over the last 5 years living in wild places, harvesting their own wild foods and wild game, following the footsteps of those who walked the land before us. These two have a bounty of land based knowledge to share as well as local Indigenous knowledge. Clay is a proud Gamilaroi & Wiradjuri man that has been on a path of re-connecting with his culture learning from many elders and uncles along the way. Will has a background in youth work and a passion for all things bushcraft so with their skills and passions combined, these two create an offering that covers land based living skills and the deep culture that comes along with them.
