About the Event
Join us again for another term-long homeschool rewilding program starting term 2!
We have had some really great feedback from parents and kids with this program.
The location is a beautiful backyard nestled in the rainforest suburbs of Holgate, Central Coast.
There is an abundance of wild foods on the property, plenty of open space for games & running around, a creek & rainforest bushland to explore & learn about, wallabies, so many birds & frogs.
For the parents who want to hang around- there is a beautiful studio space for you to do any laptop work in on the property right next to where we will be running the programs.
Location: Central Coast Private Property in Holgate.
Duration: 8-week program with weekly 4-hour sessions.
Start Date: Wednesday 8th May, reoccuring every wednesday until 29th May.
Time: 10am-2pm
Age group 6-13 years.
Program outline:
Each session is sculpted around nature connection, bush education, outdoor exposure, learning new skills & play.
Throughout the program we will teach a range of bushcraft skills including: Fire by Friction & Fire Safety, Wild Foraging, Bird ID, string making & more. Each session will consist of a bush skill teaching workshop, ecological knowledge, nature games & nature listening & more. Our aim is to encourage curiosity through the outdoors & build confidence being in the bush. Basically we create a safe container and the bush does the rest!
Who are we:
We run an organisation called Wild Beings where we hold overnight camps for families in the bush teaching these skills.
We have been mentoring children from various age-groups within outdoor programs for years.
We live and breathe our values of connection to the land and love empowering all ages to feel more confident in the bush and have more of a connection to the wild world around us.
Children come to life when they’re outside & our intention is to foster their connection with the natural world over the course of the program whilst building relationship with each individual.
Faciliated by Eva, Will & Clay from Wild Beings.

We have options for drop offs or for parents to stay, we ask if you stay that you utilise the beautiful studio space, that way we can keep the kids group for kids, we notice some kids dont fully engage with their parents around so we hope that this space can help facilitate comfort for any nervous kids, knowing their parent is not far away in the studio yet giving them space to engage in the group activites.
We love to create a device free space, this allows the kids to really interact with the amazing ecology around them.
Cost: $80 per child per session.
Cheaper price if you pay for the full 4 weeks up front: $280
Families of 3 or more get a discounted family price.
If you have any further questions please get in touch.
We will run the program as 2 x four-week sessions. We encourage you to participate for the whole 4 weeks as each week is a new topic adding to the previous session.
We are so grateful for Mel Mchale for hosting this program at her stunning property "Wild Feather".
Please get in touch with any other enquiries, hope to see you there!
