About the Event

Earth Connection Retreat

Join us for a weekend of slowing down to the gentle rhythm of nature..

An immersive experience of simply “being in nature”

Let the bush do what the bush does best, soothe the soul and clear the mind.

The fast pace of society does not allow for humans to nourish the depths of their being that need stillness & peace to operate at a harmonious level..

This 3 day retreat has been set up to provide spacious time in nature, allowing the body to slow down and really listen and pay attention to the wonders of the natural world and how our senses respond to them. Letting curiosity guide us to deeper relationship with nature.

What to expect:

-  Guided bushwalks throughout the private property surrounded by wilderness

-  Guided "Deep Ecology" practises

-  Bird Language & ID

-  Biomimicry workshop- "becoming animal"

-  Fireside sharing

-  Free time to embrace the wild surroundings

-  Sensory activities

-  Intro to primitive skills; fire by friction, natural cordage, wild foods and medicines foraging.

Our intention with this offering is to provide a space for people to leave the daily grind and really get some quality time in nature doing things that build relationship with the local eco system and reset the nervous system. A space to tap out of the stimulation and into presence with nature re-connecting with our innate sense of belonging to the wider web of existence.

Some of the themes across the weekend will be

-  Ethical harvest; how to forage wild foods and medicines in a way that does not damage the eco system

-  The language of birds and humans age old connection with them

-  How practising the ancestral skills connects us with a deeper sense of meaning and respect for the earth

-  Rewilding in an urban environment

-  How nature heals us

For most of our human history, people gathered around fires to share stories, pass on knowledge, make things with their hands and learn the skills needed to live well on the land.

Possumstick Earth Skills Gathering is an invitation into the simple things that truly make us human.

Over five days, we come together as a village to learn, practice, and celebrate the skills that connect us to the natural world and to one another. Camped together on beautiful land, participants will have the opportunity to learn from a diverse group of instructors sharing earth skills, bushcraft, traditional crafts, and folk knowledge through hands-on workshops and demonstrations.

Rather than simply teaching techniques, this gathering is about keeping alive a culture of learning, sharing, and connection. It is a place where skills are passed from hand to hand, stories are exchanged around the fire, and people of all ages can experience a slower, more grounded way of being.

Throughout the gathering, participants can choose from a range of workshops exploring traditional and nature-based skills. Between classes, there is time to wander camp, meet new friends, work on projects, sit by the fire, and enjoy the simple rhythm of outdoor living.

Each evening we gather for a communal dinner, sharing food, conversation, music, and laughter as the day winds down and the firelight draws us together.

Families are welcomed. There will be a kids rewilding space set up each morning for young ones to have their own engagement with the land.

Come camp beneath the stars, learn from skilled teachers, share meals around the fire, and be part of a growing culture of rewilding.
