About the Event

“The quality of our food determines in large part the quality of our lives. And the quality of what we eat is determined by every step that goes into production and processing – the feeding of the animals, care of the soil, preservation, storage and even cooking methods.” Western A. Price.

We are so excited to share this offering with you all. It has been years in the making with many conversations about weaving Ancestral Health & Rewilding into a weekend gathering and we have finally brought it to fruition.

This weekend retreat will be an in-depth educational & embodied immersion into what Ancestral Health is and how we can live a life that is grounded in connection to food and ourselves in a modern world.

We will be diving deep into the human bodies needs and how to achieve those in a modern world. We have evolved in a natural environment eating seasonally what the land provides. Now we are so far removed from that reality and have more dangerous health fads & physical dis-ease than ever before. So let’s re-learn the foundations of being human and what that looks, feels and tastes like!

Asher will be leading a workshop on the science of food and show you how to use biofeedback techniques to enhance meal planning for better metabolic health.

There will be a cooking element facilitated by Asher where you will be mentored on discovering and understanding objective bio-feedback methods and biochemistry insights that can help you improve and understand your own health amidst a world of confusing information. Everything you learn will help you understand and ultimately assist in improving your energy, digestion, hormones, detoxification, and overall well-being.  Asher knows from lived experiences that it's not a quick fix, so this workshop suits those willing to put in the effort to learn and apply new processes and understandings. The morning will include a presentation on biochemistry and human physiology, followed by a cooking class that demonstrates metabolic meal creation, using fats, carbs, and proteins of the highest quality, and locally sourced.

What else to expect:

-  Introduction to foraging, using wild foods and medicines in daily life. Our brains and pattern identification.

-  Using the Whole Animal; Nose to Tail. Traditional cooking methods, using organs, rendering fat, making broth and more.

-  Raw Dairy & its benefits

-  Eating seasonally

-  Where to source these foods

-  Morning primal movement

-  Incorporated wild foods into the meals

This gathering is FULLY CATERED. We will be using all local organic fresh foods, foraged foods & wild game meats to provide each participant with meals that align with ancestral nutrition and showing you how to cook them yourselves.

Learning to connect with food and know where it comes from is a huge part of what they live & teach. Learning how to butcher & use nose to tail has also been a huge part of their lives over the last 5 years. They run regular ancestral skills & rewilding workshops and camps on the Central Coast, Guringai country. Their mission being to re-connect with a more wild way of living which is rooted in place.
